SHOPPING

The Shoppes at Blackstone Valley is a large shopping center located in the surrounding town of Millbury, home to a wide variety of quality retail stores, dining, and entertainment. The surrounding communities, especially the cities of Auburn and Worcester, are also home to a plethora of shopping options and large shopping plazas, such as the Auburn Mall.

 

DINING

Uxbridge is home to many great local dining options including The UXLocale, The Burger Grille, The Depot Cafe, Gia Ristorante Italiano, Harry’s Famous Pizza, Foodworks IV and Quaker Tavern. The Shoppes at Blackstone Valley is also home to many restaurants. This includes well-known chains such as Longhorn Steakhouse, Qdoba Mexican Grill, T.G.I. Fridays, Applebee's, and UNO Chicago Grill. Being located just outside of Worcester, there are many great dining options near by in the city and surrounding communities as well.

 

ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT

There are many things to do right in Uxbridge itself. If you are looking for nature and parks, visit the Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park , West Hill Dam Reserve and Pout Pond. Other historical sights and landmarks to go see are the Arrowhead Acres and the Cormier Woods. As for outdoor activities, the Blissful Meadows Golf Club or The Habitat for Soccer and Sports is a must. Located throughout the surrounding Worcester area is a variety of entertainment as well, including family attractions, historical sites, museums, theaters, and nightlife options.

 

EDUCATION

Uxbridge Public Schools educates approximately 2100 students in grades Pre-K to Grade 12. Students attend Taft Learning Center for grades Pre-K to Grade 2, Whitin Elementary School from Grade 3 to Grade 5, McCloskey Middle School from Grade 6 to Grade 8, and Uxbridge High School for Grade 9 to Grade 12. There are approximately 310 full time and part time teachers, support staff, and administrators that work carry of their mission to “provide challenging educational programs and services to meet the diverse needs of all students in a safe, supportive environment and, in partnership with the community, prepare students to become competent, creative and contributing citizens”. Private school options include Our Lady of the Valley Regional School,  a catholic school serving pre-school through 8th grade located in Uxbridge and Whitinsville Christian School serving preschool through 12th grade. Whitinsville Christian School is one of the oldest christian day schools in Massachusetts located in the neighboring town of Northbridge.
